THRACE. Lysimacheia. Circa 245-199/8 BC. AE (Bronze, 23 mm, 9.19 g, 12 h). Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress; on cheek, countermark: head of a lion facing within circular incuse. Rev. ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΕΩΝ Artemis standing front, head to right, holding torch with both hands. HGC 3.2, 1495. SNG Copenhagen 903-4. A lovely coin with an attractive countermark. Traces of overstriking and with some breaks in patina, otherwise, about very fine.
